Leawood Stables Barn Rules:
All Boarders, Leasees, Students and Visitors should be aware of the Kansas Equine Liability Statutes. Please take a moment and read this Assumption of Risk of Domestic Animal Activity.
1) Find something that's not yours, please leave it in the basket outside Bob's office.
2) Clean up after yourselves, that means: put away buckets, brushes, lead ropes, etc.
3) Do not tie horses to door handles in barn.
4) If your horse makes a mess in the barn, please clean it up.
5) Do not overfeed animals; a little feed goes a long way.
6) Please only use tack designated to you by the stable.
7) When riding off property, take a plastic bag for horse droppings. Your horse drops it, you pick it up and depose of it at the stables. Leawood DOES FINE for manure left outside of stables property. If you (the horse you were riding) are determined to have been the party responsible, you will be responsible for the fines payable to the City of Leawood.
8) Do not ride in area during private lessons.
9) Do not take horses in barn. Definitely do not tie horses to any barn door handles.
10) Children under 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult or have pre-arranged supervision with the stables.
11) No smoking and or drinking at the stables OR while on leased horses off of Leawood Stables property.
Rider Rules - During Day Camps - These rules are meant to keep everyone safe.
1) If you are not a registered camper, do not ride with campers.
2) If campers are using the arena, please find an alternative place to ride.
3) If campers are using lots near barn for feeding and tacking, you must find an empty lot to work in.
Leasing Rules
1) Do not ride any horse other than the one you've leased.
2) Children under 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult or have pre-arranged supervision with the stables.
3) Do not allow friends to ride horses without first getting permission from the stables. The horse has been leased to you, friends will have to pay a fee.
4) You are held responsible for any injury to friends or family allowed to ride a horse leased by you.
5) All leasing fees must be paid before you are allowed to ride.
6) Riders under the age of 16, do not leave the stable property on horseback without permission.
7) All tack and stable equipment must be picked up and put away. Please help our stables stay clean and orderly.

11) Must cool your horse down after riding and before feeding (do not over feed).
12) Make sure horses are groomed and hooves cleaned, before riding. We want our animals in good health.
13) Use the tack that has been designated to you. Do not take apart stable tack. If you need your tack repaired, inform stable worker.
14) No smoking and or drinking at the stables.
15) No smoking and or drinking while on horseback.
